Guadeloupe

Just like Martinique, Guadeloupe belongs to the French overseas department and is the largest island of the French Antilles with its butterfly shape. While the west side is very mountainous and forested, the east side is characterized by a flat hilly landscape, which is often used as pasture land or for growing sugar cane. The stay on Guadelupe alone is worth several days. Our cruise starts in the capital Pointe-à-Pitre, and it does not take long until we reach one of the most beautiful places on this tour. Marie Galante, the circular offshore island, offers not only dreamlike beaches but also numerous rum distilleries and extensive hilly landscapes. The impressive views of the miles of coral reefs help to round off this island tour perfectly.

Another must-see on this trip is just west of Marie Galante. The „Iles des Saintes“ leave nothing to be desired, and many sailors and day tourists are attracted to this small group of islands at the gates of Guadeloupe. Small bays, Caribbean beaches, restaurants, bars, and a lively atmosphere await us.
Heading south, we continue to Dominica, known for its thermal springs, mangrove forests, and culinary specialties, which makes a full-day excursion very worthwhile. After leaving Dominica, we set a north course, passing the impressive west side of Guadeloupe, and after a stop at the northwest coast, we reach the sailing mecca „Antigua.“ Where the world-famous annual „Sailing week“ takes place. The marina of Nelson’s Dockyard is the starting point and home port of many superyachts. Even without the impressive tall ships, Antigua gives you the feeling of having arrived in the middle of the „Ferrero Roche“ advertising. Luxurious, Caribbean, and with a lot of international flairs.

Conclusion: A wonderful 14-day trip, where the highlights are right off the coast of Guadeloupe.

Martinique

The Caribbean island of Martinique belongs to the French Antilles and is, therefore, a French overseas territory. For us, it is the perfect starting point for a dreamlike Caribbean cruise, and after we have visited the interior and some of the beautiful bays of Martinique, we head south towards St. Lucia. The paradisiacal sounding name is in line with the appearance of this beautiful island.
A particular highlight is Marigot Bay, which is located at the end of a narrow entrance directly at the edge of a mangrove forest and is a must-see. In the southern part of St. Lucia, we are directly in front of the two impressive Pitons - the landmark of St. Lucia.

After taking a further course to the south, we come to St. Vincent and the Grenadines. From here on, it becomes even more Caribbean with snorkeling with turtles, lobsters on the beach, and sandy beaches that could not be whiter. The small island of Bequia is another highlight of our tour. This place is a well-known meeting place for circumnavigators from all over the world, and the flair is accordingly international. Caribbean steel drums and rum punch in the Whaleboner Bar and listening to the stories of other sailors - you can't get more Caribbean than that!
After leaving Bequia, we continue south to the islands of the Grenadines. Sandbanks, tropical vegetation, and the feeling of having arrived at the most beautiful end of the world mark the southernmost point of our journey. From here, we set sail towards the north. There is still a lot we want to see, like the tropical garden of St. Lucia, the volcanic crater on the Pitons, the filming location of "Pirates of the Caribbean" on St. Vincent, or one of the numerous rum distilleries in this region.

Conclusion: a two-week cruise in the heart of the Caribbean with everything that goes with it.

Martinique to Guadeloupe

This seven-day Caribbean cruise has a lot to offer. We start in Martinique, and a short time later, we drop the anchor in one of the numerous bays in the fine sand. We swim, snorkel and sip a cocktail at the beach bar - we have arrived in the Caribbean!
The next day we set sail north, and after one day, we reach the neighboring island of Dominica. This tropical island is known for its culinary arts, spices, and mangrove forests - so there is a lot to explore. After our stay in Dominica, we see the green mountain slopes on the horizon getting smaller, and shortly after, we reach the islands of Iles de Saintes and Marie Galante, offshore to the south of Guadeloupe.

This region is one of the most beautiful the Caribbean has to offer. Idyllic bays, dreamlike sandy beaches, coral reefs for snorkeling, and lively towns where you can experience Caribbean joie de vivre. The food is also excellent. The fish is freshly caught, and the colorful restaurants know their trade. Conclusion: A varied and intense seven-day trip.
